AION 2 has several automatic combat options that can make a big difference during leveling, farming, and longer fights. Potions are the most important because a badly configured HP threshold can either waste consumables or leave you too close to death before the next recovery item is triggered.
The auto-use system also covers buffs and other consumables, so taking a few minutes to configure these settings can make everyday combat much smoother.
Start With the HP Potion Setting
The first setting every new player should check is the automatic Life Potion option.
AION 2 allows you to set an HP percentage that determines when a Life Potion is automatically used. The default setting is around 70%, but there is no reason every class has to use the same threshold.

The goal is not to use as many potions as possible. The goal is to make the automatic system cover the moments when you are actually in danger.
Keep an eye on your potion consumption after several fights. If your inventory is disappearing faster than expected, lower the threshold slightly. If you regularly find yourself near death before the next potion activates, raise it.
Set Up Buff Auto-Use Separately
Buffs should not always be treated like HP potions.
AION 2 includes conditions for automatic buff usage, with options that can apply buffs during combat or movement. For most players, In Combat is a practical starting point because it reduces unnecessary consumption while traveling.
Automatic buff use is particularly useful during:
- Repeated monster farming
- Long leveling sessions
- Dungeon trash fights
- Auto-combat or assisted combat
- Routine grinding routes
If you are constantly stopping to refresh the same consumable, letting the system handle it can free your attention for positioning and skill usage.
Not Every Buff Should Be Automatic
Automatic use does not mean every consumable should be enabled.
Some effects are better saved for important encounters. If you automatically consume a valuable buff while fighting ordinary enemies, you may reach a dungeon boss without the resource you wanted to save.
A simple rule works well:
Common and frequently used buffs → automatic
Rare or expensive buffs → manual

For ordinary enemies, a regular Life Potion may be enough. Against stronger enemies, instant recovery items can provide much more value when your HP suddenly drops.
This makes inventory preparation important. Before difficult content, check what your character is carrying rather than assuming the auto-use system will solve everything.
When to Change Your Settings
You do not need one permanent configuration.

Open-world farming: lower threshold and cheaper consumables.

Keep an Eye on Auto-Replacement
If your current setup supports automatic replacement of consumables, make sure it is configured before starting a long farming session. Running out of your selected potion without noticing can leave the character fighting with no automatic recovery.
It is also worth checking your inventory before leaving town. Having plenty of cheap Aion 2 Items does not help if the specific consumable required by your auto-use setup has already run out.
A Simple Beginner Setup
If you do not want to constantly change settings, start with a conservative setup:
- Life Potion: enabled.
- HP threshold: around 60–70%.
- Buff Auto-Use: In Combat.
- Common recovery items: automatic.
- Expensive consumables: manual.
- Emergency skills: manual.
- Strong boss mechanics: handled manually.
After playing for a few hours, adjust the HP percentage based on actual potion consumption and deaths.
The best auto-use setup is not the one that uses the most items. It is the one that keeps your character alive while avoiding unnecessary consumption.
